Royal couple to attend a “private” show at Calgary rodeo - Shocker!

The royal couple will be attending a “private” bullriding show that is being put on for them at the Calgary rodeo.

Three bulls will be ridden in a pen outside the Stampede grounds. No audience, not even the wives of the bullriders, will be allowed to view this event. No cameras will be allowed so any photos or videos will be strictly controlled. We will see what they want us to see at this blatant publicity shoot, put on by Canadian Professional Rodeo Association to advertise rodeo.

If bullriding were attempted in the UK, in the style of the North American rodeo the perpetrators would be prosecuted for cruelty to animals.

Shame on you William and Catherine, who are you kidding bullriding is still rodeo!

In order to get these normally placid bulls to 'buck', various cruel devises and techniques are used.

In the main picture it can be clearly seen that the man on the left is holding an electro shocker to cause the animal pain.

Whilst such devises are against the rules of the Professional Rodeo Association, they are widely used - to ensure a 'good show'.

Do not let our royal couple be seen to condone this type of activity in our name - write your objection now, to the following address:

Prince William and his wife Catherine, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are planning to attend the Calgary Stampede rodeo in early July 2011. This event is rated as one of the cruellest rodeos in North America.
The Calgary Stampede is notorious for the number of horses that are killed in chuckwagon races. Three horses were killed in 2007 and three more in 2009.
Rodeo is North America’s bullfighting. The callous treatment and extreme cruelty that is involved is unbelievable.
Contary to popular opinion the animals used for rodeos are domesticated and tame, not wild and unbroken. They are forced to behave in a wild manner by the use of various devices such as electro shocker, flank strap, spurs and beating. The animals are terrified and in fear of their lives. They often come to grief.
I have sent a DVD of the following film to the Duke and Duchess to show them what they will really be supporting by their presence. It shows the typical treatment of animals in North American rodeos.

It was filmed by people personally known to me, with whom I have worked for a number of years. This is the truth of rodeo and I defy anybody not to be moved when they watch it.
If you go to a rodeo you can easily be distracted from what is actually happening by either, the distance you are from it or by the entertainments, such as clowns. But make no mistake; rodeos do not work without animal cruelty.
The rodeo industry will use the Royal presence not only as a free advertisement, but also as a statement that rodeo has the Royal stamp of approval.
Please write to Prince William and Catherine, at the address below, asking them not to attend the Calgary Stampede rodeo for the sake of the animals and indeed their own reputation, which could so easily be sullied by being seen to support such an cruel event.
